Artist Bio.
Stephanie Doane is a Canadian contemporary painter based in Pender Harbour, British Columbia. Her abstract paintings explore perception, memory, and the experience of place, considering painting as a space for looking rather than depiction.
Doane received her MFA in Painting from Boston University and her BFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Her work has been exhibited in New York, Chicago, Boston, Vancouver, and Toronto, following professional experience with galleries and international art fairs across North America and Asia.
Her work is held in the permanent collection of The Howard Gotlieb Archival Research Center in Boston. She currently lives and works on the Sunshine Coast of British Columbia, where she maintains Black Cove Studio.
